It comes with non washable paper filter in the picture. It doesn't need to be immediately discarded "?" You can upgrade later to the washable filters if you choose.

on 1997 OBS 7.3 what do you do with the intake air temp sensor after installing this? Is there a spot to mount on the Tymar or will location effect how the truck runs?

Leave it plugged up and zip tie it out of the way under the hood.
