The Mishimoto high-temperature thermostat has a higher activation temperature (205°F) compared to the factory thermostat (195°F).
The higher activation temperature restricts coolant flow longer to allow a quicker engine warmup, making this thermostat ideal for use in cold climates. 205F Thermostat
This thermostat is as good a quality as the stock one. The big advantage in the higher engine temp is better heat during the winter months in my OBS. It has never caused overheating during the summer even while towing heavy.
