Injector failure on the 03+ Common Rail Dodge Cummins trucks is usually caused by either bad fuel or the use of power adders that increase rail pressure. Bad fuel can cause injector failure immediately, pressure boxes will cause failure over time. The best insurance against bad fuel contamination is to run a 2 or 3 micron aftermarket fuel filter in combination with a water separator.

OE ADVANTAGE: The advantage to being rebuilt by OE is they have the ability to completely "gut" these injectors from input to output to ensure they are as close to new as possible. The only "Remanufactured" part of these injectors is the housing. All internals are brand new and then reassembled the right way. There's no reason to pay enormous costs at the dealer.
