Upgrade the transmission on your 2012-2018 Dodge Ram 6.7L Cummins 2WD with the ATS 3069212380 68RFE 2WD Transmission with PTO (Transmission Only). ATS developed this transmission to be much stronger by upgrading the calibration of hydraulic circuits inside the transmission. This transmission was also designed with an improved clutch design that helps with clutch engagement, release timing, and line pressure rise rate to perfectly match the torque output of your engine. This transmission is built with these upgrades to ensure it can handle the increased power levels of your modified Cummins.
The Torque converter regulator valve has been redesigned to help the common over pressure and ballooning inside the converter. Another benefit of the redesigned converter is the proper lubrication flow that helps keep the gear set cool.
ATS modified the main pressure regulator circuit that is modified to enable a broader range of pressure that can be commanded from the TCM. This modification allows the pump to the lower line pressure when the engine is at low loads and more responsively raise pressure above stock to react with increased engine torque and horse power levels.
ROTATING CLUTCH DRUM ASSEMBLY AND CLUTCH PACKS:
Clutch modifications are generally one of the most important items that can be upgrade on a transmission. In the case of the 68RFE transmission there is a little room for additional clutches so modifications must be done to the pressure plates providing increased clutch surfaces. The clutch packs that are increased surface area list below.
The Under Drive (Forward) clutch pack surface area is increased by 21%, using double sided frictions.
The OverDrive clutch pack surface area is increased by 17%, also using single sided clutch plates, this allows for better clutch control when overdrive is used at higher power levels.
The 2C clutch pack surface are is increased by 34%, using double sided frictions.
The 4C clutch pack surface are is increased by 34%, using double sided frictions.
The valve body is one of the most crucial parts inside the transmission. The valve body is responsible for transmitting electrical signals from the TCM into hydraulic actions. The 68-RFE uses a non-synchronous, clutch-to-clutch design. This means that the shifts from gear to gear must be timed perfectly there by releasing and applying a friction clutch to achieve a flawless shift. Typically, the hydraulics are extremely sensitive so ATS heavily modified many areas of the valve body which allows oil flow to certain clutch packs where additional pressure is needed.
The accumulator pistons seal has been redesigned to ensure hydraulic pressure integrity and reliability. This accumulator plate is made of high-grade material to compensate for the additional pressure that the accumulator pistons and springs exert during heavy power situations.

This Warranty shall not apply to any automatic transmission that has been improperly stored or installed This Warranty shall not apply to misapplication, improper operating conditions, accidents, or neglect. This Warranty shall not apply to an automatic transmission that has been improperly repaired, maintained and/or altered by the owner or his agent/tech. Most importantly, all transmission shafts are not covered by this Warranty on any transmission due to the capability of certain situations to cause stress-loads beyond the structural ability of the shaft. ATS' Automatic Transmission Warranty is NOT transferable. It is mandatory for implementation of this warranty that line pressures are tested at time of install. ATS will not pay for any fluids replaced in the event of a transmission failure.
